Happy Birthday Charlotte!

Today we celebrate Charlotte's first birthday. I made a montage to commemorate her first year of life. Before you watch it, read this.
WARNING!
This montage is about 14 minutes long. I will not be offended if you don't want to spend that long watching it. You may skip it. Also, after debating whether or not to include footage from Charlotte's birth- I decided yes. This is a tasteful shot from behind my shoulder, but I know some of you simply may not be interested in seeing this. If that is the case skip it.

Christmas season

To not go into details that I don't understand, Sarah had a small procedure done to help with the clots. She has been put on blood thinners which they didn't have her on at first because they don't want bleeding in the brain. She should be able to come home tonight or tomorrow. We are very grateful!

Now I shall try to continue to focus on family this holiday, which shouldn't be hard. What I think will be harder is looking past the paper, the bows, the food, the partys, the lights, the sparkly decorations, and all the gifts and talk of Santa. I hope to bring my thoughts to the birth of my Lord. Remember that my Savior came here to earth, in the humblest circumstances, helpless and tiny. Willing to learn and grow and to die. For me, For you, For all of us. To save us from our pain, from our grief, from our suffering. To experience every pain we would ever feel so He would know how to succor His people. To rise again and give us the greatest gift of all. Life. I hope to keep Jesus Christ alive in my life and the center of my life and my Christmas.

Gingerbread part 2

This morning I actually left the house by 9:15 (amazing, by my standards) and got a couple of presents bought. Then we headed out to Queen Creek to play with Dusti and her boys (Kade, Kolbe, and Kyler) and Grandma Terrie. The boys had great fun decorating gingerbread houses and playing in the dirt together.
Dusti made us a fabulous lunch. Pizza with pesto (it's the best-o), fresh tomatoes, and mozzerella. I could've probably eaten the whole thing myself!
I got to listen to the sweet sound of Tucker snoring and Charlotte babble almost the whole way home.
Now Trent has just left with the kids to meet the cousins and grandparents once more. This time they are headed to the mall. I am grateful beyond words to be going nowhere near the mall. I am going with the young women and young men to see the lights at the Temple. Yay!

Sedona Weekend

First of all, Andrea(my SIL) had her baby girl Thursday night! She was 8 lbs. 9 oz. and a little cutie. They surprised us with her name they had been keeping secret, Ashlyn Carma. All is well and they are home now.

Friday evening after we had been to see the baby we packed up for Sedona. Trent's parents were planning to spend Friday night in their timeshare there and we were going to spend Saturday night since they couldn't stay that night. Unfortunately Wes came down with the flu and wasn't going anywhere. We benefited from this. 2 nights as a family in beautiful Sedona. It was my first time and I hope we can go again in the summer to check out Slide Rock. We stayed at Los Abrigados Resort. It was great to have a suite with a kitchen and living room area. It was so nice having Trent where he couldn't really do anything but hang out with us. Tucker had a fabulous time exploring the area with him while Charlotte was having her Sat. morning nap. Saturday night was the main event- the many Christmas displays surrounded by beautiful lights all around the resort. It was pretty busy, but still a good time. We bundled the kids up and tucked them in the double stroller to cruise around and check it all out. Charlotte was tired, but did great and enjoyed looking at all the pretty lights. It was a fabulous weekend together as a little family!

Mid week fun

Tuesday night Lindy and her girls came over. Lindy made us dinner and we did gingerbread houses together. Well, ours was a train actually. Trent was pretty into it and made ours look pretty.
Wednesday we met with Jake, Abbie, Sophie, Karen, Jackson, and Trent for lunch at In 'N Out. So fun. Afterward we went to Three Fountains to play, Karen went home to Chandler and Trent went back to work, but Stephanie met us there with Mabel and Oliver. Grandma Donna came and visited too. We took Jackson home with us for a sleepover. Sarah was checked out of the hospital and settled in at my parents home. We got to see her today after we came over when Jackson went to preschool (which Tucker was pretty jealous about). Charlotte had a great time flirting and charming everyone, especially Nana and uncle Mark.

Happy Birhtdays

Today is two of the cutest people's birthdays. Moqui is one! Ted is twenty! Time really flies. I hope they both have a wonderful day.
I have felt kinda tired and not like doing much the last few days. I still have much Christmas shopping to do. I barely managed to get the seen parts of my house clean this morning before book club met over here to discuss the book I never got to reading, which I still want to do.
I went with Karen to see Sarah last night. My mom and brother Adam were there. She looked exhausted and swollen, but fine. She was speaking well and knew what was going on. I think her recovery will be steady.
Charlotte has begun giving kisses, much to my delight! She has also learned to give "raspberries" (sticking her tongue out and blowing) on any exposed skin. It is quite adorable.
Tucker has been saying that Charlotte has pretty thumbs.
I'll get new pictures soon.
