Food Glorious Food

Friday we had Blake, Andrea, and Baby Ashlyn over for grilled chicken and veggies and watched Employee of the Month. Good stuff. Saturday Tucker and I went to Maddy's 2nd birthday party at apark by Trent and my first apartment together. We had a great time at the playground and with the pinata and yummy cake. Then we went and saw Jake, Abbie, and Baby Sophie for a little bit before heading home for naps. Sunday was nice family time. Trent got called to Sunbeams (haha) and we had a tasty roast for dinner. Since churchtime left us without naps the kids were out by 6:45pm. Nice.

Wed Jan 24th

During the day I went to Ross and got a couple of maternity things. Tucker was passed out in the back of the double stroller and Charlotte was being so cute in the dressing room.

That evening I was excused from Young Women's to celebrate my SIL Dusti's birthday. We met with the clan at Amazing Jake's. A good time was had by all, especially Kade, Kolbe, Kyler, and Tucker. Charlotte stayed up way past her bed time, but it was all worth it for an ice cream cone!

On the way home Tucker asked,"Did we go to Amazing Jake's?"
"Yes." I told him, "That's where we just were."
A little confused, "But Jake wasn't there?"

Tucker misses you Jake.

Girl's Night

Last night was what I hope will be the first of many monthly girl's nights. I met up with Lindy, Lauren, Michelle, and Karen and Rumbi's Hawaiian Grill for dinner. I'm not sure about everyone else, but I had a fun time! Lindy's baby Ellie slept like a little angel in her car seat the whole time! What kissable cheeks that girl has! Lauren looked so cute and was really fun, although she couldn't really get in on the baby poop discussions as much as I'm sure she would have liked. Karen didn't stay long, but was silly and cute. After dinner Lindy, Michelle and I headed to AJ's for some dessert, yummy. After Lindy had left to take her baby home, Michelle and I sat in my car and talked for almost 2 more hours! How nice to have a girl to spill my guts to. All in all it was a great night to spend with friends and I am really going to miss Lindy next time around since she is leaving me and moving to Washington:(

We've been . . .

Trent's had his nose in a book all weekend (very unusual). He read Rich Dad, Poor Dad while I was watching TV, leaving me feeling very unproductive and longing to go to the library. I need to read Emma for this months book club meeting and I am excited because I have never read Jane Austen and have always meant to.
Saturday morning was nice and relaxing. Trent took Tucker with him to change his oil and turn his roters. I got to go to World Market with Charlotte and am trying to convince Trent to buy me a cute headboard and footboard set I found there for 40% off. I have wanted a headboard for years, we'll see how this turns out, but I don't have a good feeling. That night we had a fun time out with Trent's parents at P.F. Chang's. I have been craving crispy, honey shrimp. Although I wish we had gotten a babysitter, it was still great to get out and get great food.
A pretty routine Sunday. Lazy and cozy inside from the rain and cold (it's a relative term).

Other funny Tucker talk

Yesterday Tucker said two other things that I wanted to write down. In the morning I asked him, "Where did you get so cute, Tucker?"
He told me, "At the hospital. They gave me a shot and I got big and cute."

Later that afternoon I was washing pans and he asked me for a piece of ham. I said, "Okay, just a minute, I gotta finish this real quick."
He said, "Okay Mom, I'm holdin' my horses."

Busy evening

Yesterday I really needed to get some groceries, but with Charlotte having weird naps and visiting with my cousin Jill all morning, by 4pm I still hadn't left the house. I needed to make treats for young women's, but I had no eggs. When Tucker woke up about 4:30 I rounded up the kids and my purse and headed to the WalMart Marketplace down the street. I got home about 5:30 hoping Trent would be home. No such luck. I was supposed to be at a board meeting at 6 and go straight to young women's after that. And remember I was also supposed to have treats and my kids should probably get dinner at some point. So I mix up the cookies from the premade mix and start the cookies, throw the frozen skillet dinner on the stove, and sit down to nurse my still whiney daughter ( who has insisted I hold her during this entire process). I am pretty frustrated looking at the clock to see it is now 6 o'clock and there is still no sign of Trent. Now here comes Tucker.
"Mom, I need you to find Buzz."
"Tucker," I say, " I am a little busy right now, I'm nursing Charlotte, making dinner, and baking cookies right now so you're going to have to do it yourself."
Tucker's response.
"Mom, take it easy."

Random thinking

First of all, thank you for all of the sweet comments about my profile picture. It just never gets old having people tell you you look skinny! Also it is great to hear because I plan on gaining 30 lbs or so by August.
A couple of days ago I was trying to think of a fun, tasty restaurant to go to for girl's nights or date nights. Looking through this restaurant guide I sat here forever checking out many different restaurant websites and looking at their menus. I soon realized I hadn't eaten lunch and was starving. After finding little in the contents of my kitchen I ended up eating Marshmellow Mateys.

Yesterday after being stuck in the house for a couple days I decided Charlotte was feeling well enough to at least get out to meet Trent for lunch. We had a fun time at Cafe Rio. At home it was time for naps. I put the kids down and got on the internet for a few minutes. Then I laid down for a little shut-eye myself. Well about an hour and a half later I woke up in a huge puddle of drool (very rare for me) wondering if it was morning. That's when you know you had a good nap!
Well, that's all for now. "Good morning, and in case I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening and good night."

Baby Steps

Charlotte did two new tricks on Saturday evening. They absolutely thrilled me! I know Charlotte is smart and she understands much of what I say. However she has never listened to me ask her to do a task and run off and do it before. Saturday she was enjoying some diaper only time running around unencumbered by burdensome clothing. Well, I decided she might be getting cold and it was time for jammies. I was lying on the couch with my usual evening nausea. "Charlotte," I said, "Will you get those pink jammies and bring them to Mama?" She looked at me and where I was pointing and promptly went over picked up the jammies and brought them to me. I was amazed! How adorable. After getting her jammies on, I was watching her walk around the room playing a little more. As she passed close to the couch I puckered and said, "Can you give Mommy a kiss?" I do this all the time and am usually casually ignored and passed by by my busy little toddler. However, not this night. An amazing thing happened, she looked in my eyes, opened her little mouth, poked out her tongue, and planted a kiss right on my lips. Although the tongue was a funny surprise, I have never been so delighted! Finally a kiss freely given to me from my little girl! I can't describe what joy I felt at that instant. Amazing.
Sunday rolled around and my poor girl was throwing up and running a fever. Poor little angel. All she wants is to be held. It is very sad to have a sick child, but I must admit I am enjoying the uncharacteristic snuggling it has brought my way. She is still running a fever today so I am winding up for a big day of cartoon watching and best of all, more cuddles!

More

To answer some questions, my due date is July 26. Two days before Tucker's 4th birthday. Woops once again on ruining my kids birthdays by conceiving at the wrong time. As for how I am feeling, regular pregnancy stuff. Nausea, check. Unexplained exhaustion, check, Mood swings, check. Nothing too terrible. In my previous pregnancies my nausea has suddenly magically disappeared right at the 16 week mark, so I am hoping that will happen again. My evenings are often spent whining and dry heaving. I have not gained any weight yet, which is nice. Or is it? Now I can just squeeze gaining all that weight into a shorter time frame.
Anyway, life is great. I am madly in love with my husband. I have 2 perfect, beautiful, hilarious children. I can't complain. Last night we were able to go for a very refreshing, long overdue trip to the temple. I came home with a new appreciation for everything in my life and a new resolve to be a better person. What a blessing.

Here are some random pictures from the last week.

Its True

I am a baby making machine. Its true. Although I have known I am pregnant for weeks now, ( and many of you have known since Christmas) today it became real. I am twelve weeks along now. I had a check up this morning. Though it is my third time around (my mind still reels at the realization that I will be the mother of 3 so soon!) it brings as much excitement and anxiety as ever. Today I heard my new baby's heartbeat for the first time. The tears that came to my eyes surprised me a little. I had been waiting for this, wanting to hear it, knowing it would make it all so much more real, and it did. I just love hearing that quick little beat, knowing that a tiny new life has truly begun. What a miracle it all is! What a blessing to have a body that can do such a thing as this! The divinity of it astounds me.

Monday Monday

Always sad when the weekend is over. I know Tucker and Charlotte miss the time with their dad too. Last week on Wednesday I think, Trent was here when Tucker woke up, so he got him his chocolate milk and turned on his cartoons. I was laying in bed and I heard Tucker's little voice say, "Stay here with me Dad, its Saturday." So cute that he knew Saturday is his day to play with his Dad!
So the real Saturday came and we were sitting around in our jammies watching cartoons and drinking chocolate milk when surprisingly my dad called Trent's cell phone. He wanted to invite to a breakfast buffet. We are not known for turning down the offer of food and gladly joined Papa, Claire and Spencer for breakfast. What a fun way to start the weekend. Although we didn't do anything particularly special, we just had a nice weekend.
Charlotte is down to 3 breast feedings a day, one morning, one random middle of the day, and one before bed. It's always bittersweet when the weaning starts. On one hand it feels like a relief that the end is in sight, on the other hand feedings are such sweet times together.
Anyway, it's Monday now and Tucker will inevitably be asking me "What should we do today?" I usually don't have any very exciting answers to that question. What's worse. I know I need to get groceries today. Why is it that I always dread the trip to the grocery store so much?

Tasty

Tuesday we met Trent at Souper Salad (Salad place) for lunch. Charlotte enjoyed her very own ice cream cone.

A long week

I can't believe Christmas was only a week ago. The last week and a half has been pretty crazy.
Christmas eve was a delicious dinner and story reading and present opening with my in-laws. Christmas morning we spent at our own home with the kids. Trent absolutely spoiled me and the kids had a great time. After Charlotte's morning nap we went to my parents and spent the day over there eating and playing. Tuesday we spent lazing around and cleaning. Some of the in-laws came over for pizza and cake and Charlotte's birthday singing and presents. Wednesday morning was Charlotte's one year check up. Then we went to Bart and Dusti's to see Kim and Dan and Deret and Tristen who were down from Flagstaff. Then I took those tired kids home for a late nap. I was feeling tired and a little yucky, so I asked Karen to pick up my sister from the airport and bailed on hanging out with some old friends that I never get to see. It was probably best as I ended up throwing up about every two hours that night. Thursday was miserable, Trent came home early to help me out. That evening Emily and Brandon came to visit. It was so fun and exciting to see my sisters big belly and feel her baby, he even got the hiccups. After a night of rest I felt so much better. I decided I better go to my mom's to spend more time with Emily. When I got home I was wiped out, I should've rested more. Saturday we had a small baby shower for Emily at my mom's house. It went well and was nice. I got to see Jill who I hadn't seen for weeks. I hung out there for most of the day. Trent had taken Tucker up to Christopher Creek to play in the snow. They had a blast.
Sunday I had a lesson to teach and that evening was a stake meeting where they changed all the boundaries and created a new ward. We are in the new ward. I am so bummed that I will not be in the same ward as most of my young women, and also who knows what calling I will have now. But at least now Blake and Andrea are in our same ward. Then we hung out at Trent's parent's house for a couple hours, came home and got the kids in bed. We didn't bother staying up til midnight, but were awoken by our neighbors making loud noises and yelling profanities to ring in the new year! I woke up to the happy surprise of Trent having work off- I never think of New Years as a real holiday for some reason. Anyway we cleaned house all day and then I got groceries and then Panda Express for dinner. Tucker tickled me pink by grabbing me by the face and saying in a silly voice, "Kiss me my sugar love!" and kissing my lips!!
I finished off the evening by watching the whole first season of The Office snuggling my beautiful husband on the couch. Not bad.
