Back to school

My kids are all growing up! This year Tucker is in 4th grade, Charlotte in 1st, and can you believe, Henry in Kindergarten! It is so nice that they have eachother, it makes it so much easier for me to let go when I know that they are all there together.

The first two days after picking Henry up he told me that he does not like school. I told him I know that it is long and I miss him, but he better start liking it because he will be there a lot. :) Friday after school he said it was awesome! He is very vague on his reasoning and won't share many details. So far he told me that his work is so easy, all he does is circle things and color things. He also said they talked about consequences, but that he already knew about that from church. And already two days in, a girl in his class kissed him on the arm, even though he tried not to let her! I am dying, this kid cracks me up.

Tucker and Charlotte already have friends and are making more. I look forward to more funny reports on what goes on!

Birthday Boys 2012

Getting in some swimming before the rain started.
 Lots of cousins and family!
 Amber's belly starting to show.

At the end of July we celebrated Henry's 5th birthday and Tucker's 9th. On Henry's day we started the day with doughnuts(with candles and singing) and a new lego set and wii game. After lunch at In 'N Out Trent took Henry and Charlotte to Sunsplash and Tucker got to go there with his cousins. That night cousin Jackson spent the night and got to wake up here on Tucker's birthday which started with his requested scrambled eggs, toast, and chocolate milk. Tucker had been waiting all summer for the computer game Minecraft, so he and Jackson spent most of the morning playing that and swimming. That evening we had my family over to celebrate and on Sunday we celebrated with Trent's family. What a weekend!

Lake Powell 2012

Aunt Kim and Chloe
I have been meaning post this for a while.

My beauty Charlotte growing some big girl teeth.
Charlotte got on her knees on the kneeboard this year. She loved playing in the sand with Ashlyn, riding the tube, and doing all kinds of fun stuff. I often found her with Aunt Jen and her dogs, just visiting.
Chloe wouldn't nap if I set her down, so most of the trip I felt like I was holding her. Nice view though.

Tucker was determined to catch a fish and it payed off.
Tucker was lucky enough to spend most the nights with Kyler at the lake while we went back to the hotel in Page.
Trent took many turns giving kids rides on the jet ski. This was the first year we have rented one (actually Trent's brother and cousin rented them). I finally got Trent to take me on a ride and I can't remember ever smiling so much. On one sharp turn I flew off the back and couldn't stop laughing, it was so much fun!

Chloe loved Grandpa Summers as much as I do!
We're home from our annual Powell reunion at Lake Powell. Trent's parents, all six of their children plus spouses, their 19 grandchildren, Grandma and Grandpa Summers, cousin Jeremy and his girls and their friends all came. We got to the Lake Tuesday around 2:30pm and set up camp. I have never had a baby this young at Lake Powell, but she did great and there were many willing hands to hold her when I needed help. My hands were often full, so I didn't get pictures of everything I would've liked to. The kids had so much fun playing in the sand, jumping on the trampoline, going down the houseboat (Jeremy's) slide, kneeboarding, tubing, riding the jet skis, and going on the occasional quad or ranger ride.

Chloe 3 months

Hard to believe my little Chloe is 3 months. Charlotte likes to call her Chloe-moey because she is always sporting a little curly MO-hawk. Some things she is doing now: gripping things including links and other toys, hair and other body parts, and her own hands. Usually anything she manages to grasp goes directly to her mouth. She is adding to her rolls and chubbiness daily. She coos and loves being talked to. She smiles so much and sometimes lets out a little giggle. She is so strong and when laying flat on her back she uses her stomach muscles to lift her head and do a little crunch. She loves the bath and has from day 1, she just smiles, kicks, and splashes the whole time. Everyone comments on how pretty and chubby she is and on her long, curly eyelashes. She is such a joy and we all love her tremendously.

Summertime, and the livin's easy

 The lunar eclipse.
Makutu's Island (indoor playland) with cousins.

 Playing with Mom's phone

We've been enjoying a pretty laid back summer. Monday through Thursday mornings we have swim team practice for Tucker and Charlotte and lessons for Henry and Paisley. After that we usually swim in our own pool once or twice. There has been the rare day and Sundays where we don't swim, but usually that is our only plans. The kids aren't excited that they usually have to run errands with me now instead of missing out on them while they're at school. And I'm not especially thrilled about it either. I've continued my once a month girl's nights which are the best break for me where I get to laugh so hard and eat tasty food. Sonic happy hours are also our friend. Thursdays are the kids swim meets, I am so proud of the way they compete and enjoy it even though they don't get first place ribbons. They are both pretty strong swimmers and it is pretty cute to see them race! Here are some pictures from this summer. Since I got Instagram I have been taking a lot more photos on my phone, I just wish they were better quality.

Chloe isn't the only chubby one around here

So, here we go again. I am breastfeeding exclusively, and some people say that they lose weight while nursing, but I didn't seem to get that perk. Nursing just seems to make me more ravenous then ever.
I gained some weight before I got pregnant and almost 30 lbs while prenant and have hardly lost any since Chloe's birth. That puts me about 40 lbs over what I want to be. It freakin sucks. I hate getting dressed each day. I hate that it is swimsuit season around here. I hate looking in the mirror. I don't want to be in pictures. I hate being in this place again. I can't imagine when I can get to the gym since Trent has been working early, that hasn't been an option- not that I can imagine giving up any precious sleep right now anyway. The kids are out of school now and I am not going to pay for 5 childcare passes. It is up to 100 degrees in the evenings already which makes it hard to go jogging. I guess it is time to start doing work out videos at home. Not my idea of fun. And watching what I eat. Not easy. I think I will try Weight Watchers. Wish me luck.

Chloe is two months old

I can hardly believe it. She is growing so fast. She is so chunky and chubby and wonderful.
Each month I am going to take pictures of her in the brown chair, so I can watch her growth. I can look at this girl all day long I tell ya.
