HCG anyone?

I have several relatives that have done the HCG diet. I have never had any desire to try it. I can't see how I could possibly intake only 500 calories a day (I'm sure that I consume that many within minutes of waking up each day :) ). I don't like the idea of being told not to exercise. For me exercise is an outlet and I enjoy it and it fights depression. I want to exercise. But here's the thing. I need something to help me control my eating. I need someone to tell me exactly what I can eat. Me telling myself to cut down doesn't do jack. I would be really pleased if I could lose 10-15 more pounds and keep it off. I have always said that HCG would be my last resort, well I think I might just be there. Any thoughts?

i know it works, but you would still lose weight just from not eating that many calories. i know they have a program that uses liquid drops instead of the injections. my mom only did it for a week and she lost 7 pounds and only gained one back when she quit.

The liquid drops aren't really HCG. I did some research about it. The drops work but they aren't hcg. It has to be injected.
My bro and sis did the HCG injections and had some great results. I've been debating it a lot because I feel like I've tried everything to loose weight.

Don't do it! It sounds so unhealthy and you are already looking and doing so great. There are plenty of other healthier diets out there that will tell you exactly what to eat. You could try South Beach for 6 weeks, I've heard it's a good one.

Use the money you would spend on hcg and hire a trainer to motivate you. That diet is so unnatural. Also keeping a food journal and having to share it with someone holds you somewhat accountable for what you consume. Oh and try the book eat this not that I love that one!

To be honest, it scared the crap out of me! I know the results can be amazing and if you have the money and desire, I'm sure it could be a right fit for the right person. For me, however, it really scared me to think of all the risks and danger involved.

Emily is right. And I've been on South Beach twice. I lost 50 lbs the first time and 30 the second. (after my first baby) It works wonders!

I just started it this week (the drops. mine are HCG). There's a lot of hype out there good, and bad, so research it and decide for yourself. My mom did it and really liked it, so I decided to give it a try. I'm only on the second day of phase two, the first phase you feast for two days :) anyway I have lost 2.10lb in really just one day. So so far so good. The foods you eat are good healthy foods, lean meat, fruit, veggies. You can do moderate exercise. I think they just don't want you building too much muscle which would change your result. Here is the website I got my info from:http://www.curaromana.com/ at the bottom there is a free download with lots of info. Hope this helps :)

PS. SouthBeach is not good. I worked at a health spa and I don't know why but it makes everyone mean. I know that probably sounds lame :) but it's true

I don't like the sound of it. I think the only way to lose weight and keep it off is to make a change in your everyday life. As bad as that sucks! It may work, but I don't think it will last. I think you look wonderful. I would just keep up what you are doing and maybe kick it up a notch. Love Ya. I wish you still lived here so we could exercise together!!!

okay so obviously you know I did it after my 2nd baby and i've given you my opinion...I kept all the weight I lost off plus lost a few more on my own - the only reason they don't want you to exercise is because of your calorie intake, your body naturally produces hcg while pregnant so it's not unhealthy, if you want to exercise just add 200 more calories like Terrie did! it's been around for over 50 years and has many more benefits than most people think. I know the drops work but I know they are different than the injections - only do it if YOU want to, our opinions don't really matter! I will be doing it again this fall after I'm done nursing baby #3

You know I did it as well. I lost 15 and have kept it all off. I've debated doing it again, but it is really hard to stay on when you have to cook for a family and it is hard to work out while on it, I didn't have much energy. I think I'll try the south beach diet, so I can work out hard, but if I am not getting results I'm not opposed to doing it again.

Good luck in deciding. There comes a point that we feel like crap because nothing seems to work. I think its good to try new things. I've considered trying it, but haven't yet. if you decide to let us know how you like it!

Ian is currently doing the hcg drops and has lost 10 lbs in a week. He cheats because the cravings are still there. I would agree with Skye on still having to cook for your family... it's about impossible not to cheat.
