Sleepless in AZ

So last night was finally the night before my first day of boot camp. I have been looking forward to it, but also been a little nervous about it since I signed up a couple weeks ago. Anyway, I got in bed a little earlier than usual and had lights out by 10:30. Trent was instantly asleep as usual and I lay there awake. At midnight I started getting irritated that I wasn't asleep, my eyes weren't heavy, my breathing wasn't slowing and I had primary songs booming in my mind. I moved to the couch. I came back. I went pee like 7 times. I rolled around into 48 different positions. I contemplating digging around in our medicine cabinet to find something to knock me out, but thought better of it, I did want to be able to wake up after all. I finally started to doze off a little before 2 am when Charlotte crawled into our bed followed shortly by Tucker. After a few minutes I got them back in their beds and finally slept. That 4:45am alarm came around pretty fast. But I'm thinking I shouldn't have such a hard time falling asleep tonight.

I'm tired from this week

Sunday were the birthday celebrations.

Monday: Paisley's well check and shots.

Then the Diamondbacks game at night. We had great seats and Henry had a great time. Charlotte, not as much.

Tuesday Charlotte had early start for her preschool. After I dropped her off I put Paisley down, did my work out, showered and met her with the other babies for her field trip to Bahama Bucks where she got to make her own shaved ice. (forgot my camera) Got home and fed everyone lunch, put kids down for naps, cleaned up.Wake up the babies, go pick up Tucker and Wyatt, drop Wyatt off, go to Costco, go home, put cold stuff in fridge, drop off the kids except for Charlotte, go to parent teacher conference with Tucker's teacher and pick up a couple books at the book fair. Get the kids from Kathi and go home to feed them dinner. Phew.
Wednesday. The zoo with friends. Jill, Macey, Abbie, Mel, Dustin and all their children plus my three. It was a lot of fun, but we were worn out at the end. Didn't get to spend as much time with the adults as I would have liked, but it was well worth the trip. Thanks for a great day guys!

Paisley is one!

Paisley turned one yesterday. I can't believe it. I am pretty sure we won't have any more of our own babies around here again, so it is sort of a sad feeling. I can't believe she is already one. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that I was in the hospital with her newly born tiny body next to mine. So perfect and small. Her nose smooshed to the side, her hair almost black, her tiny long skinny fingers with their tiny nails. Her wrinkly little feet and tiny little bum.

Paisley,
Thank you for joining our family. You are so perfectly wonderful. You are truly a blessing. You hum like a little kitten purs. Lately you are eating so much and loving food. You are so blonde now. You have the stickey-outey belly that cracks me up. Your cheeks and thighs are so wonderfully chubby. You are running around now. You love to carry around remote controls or phones. You love your family. You never want to sit down in the bath or get your hair rinsed out. You are so strong and wiggly. Sometimes you like to be held, but you are usually on the move. You love to pull books from their shelves and toys from their buckets or drawers as well as clothes. You make silly happy noises and are starting to mimick some of the noises we make. You are keeping up with the silly face making, always entertaining us. I love to watch your cheek dimples deepen when you suck on a straw or sippy and I love your chin dimple as well. You're gorgeous basically. You have already started trying to put on other family members shoes to walk around in, I'm sure you've been watching Henry too much. I hope you enjoy being one. We will miss your sweet babiness. I know you will continue to love and learn and grow by leaps and bounds and I look forward to each new move. You are my little angel and I love you so completely.

Love,
Mommy

A little of this and that

I've been collecting fabric for a while now to make Paisley a quilt. I really wanted to have it done for her first birthday on Saturday, so this week I kicked it into high gear. I pieced together and sewed the entire front piece at last. Now I just need to put it together with the batting and the back piece of fabric. I don't want to tie it. I want to have someone quilt it with a machine that does cool quilting patterns. Does anyone know someone in my area with a quilting machine or a place I can have it done for a reasonable price? Please help!
It is far from perfect. There is a pucker mark in one spot and some places aren't even, I can see tons of mistakes, but I love it. I loved watching it come together and I can't wait to see the finished product.

I've only attempted making a quilt once before. It was much smaller too.

Paisley is darling.
Here she is at Grandma's on Sunday.

Look, I'm big.

Oh Crap! How do I get off this thing?

Come on, body!

I am so frustrated to see the same number on the scale week after week. I am exercising 4 days a week, I have cut down on sweets, soda, fast food, junk food, and I am eating more fruits and veggies and not eating after 8pm. I am drinking more water and I am seeing nothing from it. It makes me want to cry. And then it makes me actually cry. Like last night when I was jogging and the last two laps I was fighting tears and a huge lump in my throat. I finished my 2 miles (which is still pretty hard for me) and I broke down. The tears and the gasping. Luckily Kathi is really sweet and didn't slap me and tell me to snap out of it. I'm just sick of being fat and I'm really frustrated.

another blog?

So, I've decided to start another blog where I can post all the stuff I am currently wishing I could buy. Since I look at it anyway, why not put it somewhere that I can find it again and show everybody all the weird stuff I like. The little etsy favorites on my sidebar just isn't cutting it.

Oooh, I want that.

I took a half day.

Look, no more mole. I asked Trent if I could have Saturday off starting at 1 pm. He grudgingly agreed. I enjoyed the company of my buddy Kathi, a little shopping, dinner and a movie. It was the greatest day I've had in a long time. Kathi also put some fun orange peek-a-boo color in my hair on Wednesday. I like it a lot. Other random things I enjoyed this week: pouring rain on Saturday morning, my first produce lot from bountifulbaskets.org, getting through second nephi, putting "piggies" in Paisley's hair, and kisses on my arm from Charlotte.

We have a little problem

Apparently Bob the Builder and I have the same ring tone. That is Henry's favorite show these days and every time Bob's phone rings, I frantically start searching for my phone.
