Family friendly Halloween movies

It's that time of year. It's too early to put up Halloween decorations, but they are already in the stores. I'm starting to think about Halloween and wanting to start watching all the Halloween movies I can get my hands on just for fun ( I am aware that it is still August). I decided I should make myself a list, and thought hey, I can share it on my blog. If anyone even reads the thing anymore. Obviously depending on the age of your kids, not all of these would be appropriate. However, these are the kind of Halloween movies that get me in the mood for Halloween without all the screaming and gore.

-Disney's House of Villains- includes Witch Hazel with Donald duck, the Donald Duck with the big     gorilla, and more
-Dr. Seuss-It's Grinch Night
-The Nightmare Before Christmas (Henry loves Jack Skellington)
-The Witches (based on the book by Roald Dahl)
-The Adventures of Ichabod Crane (The Headless Horseman)
-Casper
-Hocus Pocus
-Addams Family Values
-Harry Potter (any of them) all the magic and pumpkin juice has me feeling Halloween-y
-Lady in White
-Watcher in the Woods
-Edward Scissorhands
-Ghostbusters
-Beetlejuice
-Psycho (the original)
-Death Becomes Her
-What Lies Beneath
-Probably any M.Night Shyamalan (I love Signs)

I haven't actually seen these last three, but they seem like ones I'd like to try.
-Something Wicked This Way Comes
-Tower of Terror
 -Halloween Town series

I'd love to hear more suggestions. Hope you enjoyed my list :)

There are also some great Disney shorts you can watch on youtube or if you have VHS there are
-Disney's Halloween Treat (a montage of disney clips)
-Scary Tales

-Donald's Scary Tales

*Edited to add
-Raggedy Ann and Andy and the pumpkin who couldn't smile
-Return to Oz

Great list, Robin! Thank you! I love the summer and all, but fall is my favorite time of year. If only it didn't lead to winter!

Halloween is so much fun.

Rent Disturbia with Trent if you've never seen it. I hate Watcher in the Woods! I need to rent Beetlejuice and Edward Scissor Hands. Ordered Ichabod this week:)

Hi! I'm Em's OK friend. The Worst Witch is great. It's a cute book series also. Little Monsters. Horrible but creative:) I remember a movie that might have been called Monster Mash? These are a just a couple I remember from when i was a kid.

See, I am in LOVE with all the old Disney shorts that they used to show leading up to Halloween. Like The Old Mill and The Skeleton Dance and OOH! Disney's Halloween Treat that was narrated by the magic mirror. I loved those ones.

Great list! I haven't seen several of those but will now! I loved Mr. Boogety when I was a kid, wonder if that's around somewhere? Also Meet Me In St. Louis has a really fun Halloween part that makes me want an old fashioned Halloween! It's a good one, you should watch it sometime!
