Goodbye Marky

Yesterday afternoon I took the kids over to see Mark and say goodbye. We won't be seeing him for 2 years. :( Trent kindly came, said goodbye, and took the kids home for me. I joined Mark, Ted, Karen, Spence, Gabe, and 2 of Mark's friends for dinner at Kohna Grill. Tasty.

Then I said my tearful goodbye and drove home, thinking what a bummer it will be to have him gone. Tucker is all excited to draw him pictures to mail him though, so that's good.

Aww Mark...I didn't get to say goodbye because I am foolish.

A hello and a good-bye all in one week? That is crazy!

Good-byes are always so sad...

missions are bittersweet aren't they?

What happened to your LITTLE brother? He did a lot more growing than you did. Mark turned out to be a great kid. I've noticed lately what a nice genuine guy he is.

Thanks for the awesome pictures to refer back to, I wish I had thought about doing that with him and my lil' ones. I'm glad I had a chance to tell him I love him.

At least he and Teddy got to see eachother! Mark was so nice every time I visited. He even called Julia and invited her to go out with him and his friends when she was down. And I always noticed how big he was for a Brimley-he got some good genes.

It's so much more fun and less painful to have them come home than it is to send them off. I do feel jealous of those lucky Mexicans that get to meet Mark.
