Food Allergies

A couple of weeks ago Henry got his blood drawn to retest for his allergies. We got the results back yesterday and we're very happy! Henry's tested negative for wheat, peanut, and other nut allergies! His egg allergy has almost disappeared, the doctor recommended not to give him plain eggs, but said that cooked in foods it was fine. His milk allergy remains, which we will retest in one more year. But for now we are so happy! Say hello to a whole new food world Henry, you're going to love it!

Here he is today eating a peanut butter sandwich! I hope this means no more grabbing crusts off the top of the trash and sneaking away to a corner to eat it:)

On the other hand, now we have Paisley. Yesterday I gave her some of my scrambled eggs. This led to her breaking out in hives and vomiting several times. I also suspect that the eczema on her face may be related to a wheat allergy (it started showing up around the time I introduced cheerios). I plan to just watch her carefully until her first birthday when I will probably have her tested as well. I guess it's a waiting game then.

Food allergies are so not fun. Yay for Henry!!! Poor Paisley :(

Hopefully she will out grow them too- if she indeed has them.

I seriously got teary eyed thinking that Henry gets to eat peanut butter and regular bread... he's been such a trooper watching his older siblings eat different things! I hope Paisley doesn't have the allergies, however you are now experienced I guess! love ya

Bless you! I can't imagine having to go through the stress of food allergies!
The most we ever had with Hannah was a lactose sensitivity (which went away by 18 months)and an egg issue early on... but we just had to cracks the egg in our hand & run it gently under water to remove all the white... and I thought was a hassle!
So glad Henry's are easing up!!

Glad that Henry has a little more freedom now. That is certainly one way to end the trash digging.

Sorry to hear about your baby poor girl. So sad. At least you have experience with being creative with food now and it will hopefully be a less stressful time until she is tested.

Yay for PB sandwiches! Now he can sneak candy and chocolate instead of terribly healthy things like wheat bread.

No more eggs, wheat, dairy, strawberries, citrus, etc. for Paisley until after she is a year. Then try wheat but not whole wheat and egg yolks but no whites. I'm sure you already know this, but just in case...
