We're home

Hello. Henry and I are home and all is well. Henry's middle name is Elwood after my maternal great-grandfather. The next little while will be a big adjustment with my hands full, so I am not sure how often I will be posting. I have so much to tell and so many pictures to share. Henry is perfect and we are so grateful he is here with us! He loves to stick out his tongue! Getting him here was quite the experience. I have always thought it would be great to experience a natural childbirth and I am really glad I was sort of forced to experience it. It was pretty amazing, and yes painful. I was screaming during the delivery, just like all the movies that I would totally make fun of and think they were so unrealistic. There were some complications afterward. My uterus wouldn't "clamp down" which meant that I was hemorrhaging and losing a lot of blood. It was a pretty awful experience leaving me weak and drained and tender. Thank goodness for the wonder of modern medicine that was able to remedy things fairly quickly. I am doing great now and I have a perfect baby to show for it all, so all is well.

Ahhh- natural birth. I was forced into that by sweet Alec. He came 1 1/2 after I got to the hospital also. I am so glad you are ok and Henry is just beautiful. Congratulations Robin!! Love ya!!

What a beautiful baby. I love his name and the sweet pics.

Don't let him grow too much before his Aunt Emily gets to see him.

Congrats. I'm glad you're feeling better.

I just love his name! Henry Elwood...it would be so fitting for him to become President some day! My first two were natural childbirth...ugh, it was AWFUL!!! I wasn't trying to be brave, I was just afraid of the epidural needle! I finally got smart on the 3rd baby...what a difference!

I love your pictures, especially the one of beautiful you and Henry napping together...so precious!

How do you sleep with your mouth closed? If that was me I'd have my mouth wide open, drooling on the poor baby...
You are beautiful.
