These are great.
Or how about these.

Maybe these.

Memorial Day weekend

I hope you all had a nice weekend.

A few highlights from ours:

-Friday morning Henry gets tubes.

-Friday night, father and sons campout.
We girls went to dinner with a couple friends and Paisley behaved wonderfully the entire dinner.

-Saturday evening, dinner and visiting with Trent's family at Bart and Dusti's.

-Sunday a trip to Urgent Care with Charlotte.( I was having flash backs from her last trip to the Urgent Care.) I was teaching primary when Charlotte was brought to me bleeding quite heavily from her right thumb which had been slammed in a heavy door. There were no fractures. I have never seen the poor girl in so much pain. I think she was in shock a little bit too, because mixed in with the hysterical screaming her teeth were chattering. It was heart wrenching.

-This morning Trent took Tucker to a motocross track where they rode bikes and dirt bikes. Tonight we swam and grilled out and I am ready for a quiet night in bed.

Look at my husband. Man alive, he is good looking!

Tubes for Hanky

In with the tubes. . . Out with the fluid and chronic ear infections.

Henry came out of the procedure screaming mad. He was inconsolable for about half an hour. Quite a difference from Tucker's docile reaction after getting his tubes over 3 years ago.

Now that Henry has perked up and eaten he is back to his happy and silly self. I don't think he was in pain (they gave him a nice rectal tylenol for that- he was asleep, don't worry). I think he just didn't like the feeling of coming off the anesthetic.

I was a little frightened of getting the tubes for him, mostly because there is always a small amount of risk when general anesthesia is used. However, I also don't feel it is healthy to have him constantly taking antibiotics and being in continual pain. So it is done. And we are relieved.

It's hard to believe

My baby is 8 months old!

Sorry for the blurry pics, there was a kid fingerprint on my lens.

And just a side note. There's a new trend in diaper wearing.

I need a pincushion

I would love one these.

Or this

Or this.

p.s. my birthday is coming up.

Last week

We spent most of our play time with Aunt Emily and cousins Jonah and Elora. Henry and Jonah got along swell. Paisley and Elora played quietly next to each other several times. We enjoyed Friday night with Lindy and her girls. Lindy got my birthday present early and I will have two full months to look forward to it. We will be seeing Jewel live in concert in July! Tucker had his last soccer game of the season. ( I still need to crop all the action shots)
We went in the pool at least once each day. Anyone who wants to join us in the pool needs only to give us a call.

The Mother Load

I hope my two moms had a great Mother's Day! They must have since they got to see me! Ha.

To my Mother in law Terrie. Thank you for always making me feel like a part of the family and even an important part. Thank you for hosting Sunday dinners with all the siblings. We all love spending time together and you make it a priority. Thank you for the wonderful Grandmother you are to my children. Thank you for making my life easier and always helping with the kids without hesitation. You are lovely and always stylish. You are dedicated and strong willed. Thank you for raising a wonderful son that is a truly wonderful partner and companion. I cannot thank you enough for all you do and all that you are. I love you!

Mom,
How can I ever thank you for raising me in the gospel of Jesus Christ and making me who I am? Mom I love you. I love being able to call you up when I feel lonely or overwhelmed by little children. I love our talks. You are so crazy and cookey and can always make me (and everyone around you) laugh. You are endlessly silly ( a trait I may have inherited a bit). You are beautiful and petite. How I wish I was built like you! My kids adore you and wish they could play with you every day. Thank you for having special sleepovers with them. Thank you for spending so much of your life raising us. Thank you for giving me so many wonderful sisters and brothers that fill my life with joy. Happy Mother's Day and 35th wedding anniversary to you!

This is my mom at age 28 after having four kids. I am at that same point in my life and am nowhere near as pretty or svelte. What a babe!

Mother's Day Week: Friends

So many friends, old and new that I would love to give a shout out and wish a Happy Mother's Day.
Amelia, an amazingly artistic photographer in California. I've known her since I was eight.

Candace. We've been friends since I was 14. We met when I lived in Afton, WY. I love everything about her. I miss her tons! And my other Star Valley girls, Lisa, Aubri, Rhiannon, Kari, Bridgette. . .

My Utah buds.
Gina. Thoughtful, concerned, loving friend. Amazing working mother of a rambunctious 3 year old Liam. We bonded over evening walks in our Provo neighborhood.

Michelle. Another friend from my Provo ward. Just had her third boy. I just relate to her really well and wanted to spend more time with her than I got to.

Katie. (far left, seriously the only picture I have of the girl.)Understands me so well as a mother of 4 under the age of 6 as well. Sweet, soft spoken, and a wonderful example. I am sad that she is so far away in New York. I will always be grateful she introduced me to Gilmore Girls.

Bri. Another mother of 4 under 6. Gorgeous, perfect body, and hilarious. I wish she lived next door to me. We met working at The Brick Oven.

My local girls.
Abbie and Jill. Cousins and friends extraordinaire. I've basically known them from the womb. We were all born the same summer. I love them dearly and would feel a huge hole in my life without them.

Lindy. An amazing single mother, working full time, taking classes online and raising 3 great girls. I don't know how she does it. I feel I can be the silliest version of myself with her. We laugh so much. I am so glad I met her working at the Landmark and we became roommates!

Mel. Mother of Gracie and Gus. So funny and open. Love spending time with her. So glad she moved so close to us.

Stephanie. I don't see her much, but she inspires me with her talent and her gracious mothering. I would love to be just like her, if I ever grow up.
New friends.

Cassi. Beautiful, fun and sweet. I was so sad she left my ward, thank goodness we still have Bunko.

Kathi, or is it Kathy? So happy she moved into the neighborhood. We are now exercise buddies and could gab for hours.

There are so many other women that have touched my life, I could go on for days. Like Tori, Raan (Raan's the tall blonde, I'm the one who looks like a boy, that's what my mom said when I had short hair anyway, the flat chest didn't help matters either), Paige, Bonnie(the one on my shoulders), Liza, Diana. . .

Girls, I love you all. Thank you being my friend, and remaining my friend, even though I may not be the best at keeping in touch. You are amazing women and mothers and my life wouldn't be the same without you in it. Thank you and Happy Mother's Day.

Glee

Paisley at her finest.

And a random question to all you crafty people. I am wanting to make some flower clips for myself and my girls. What clips do you like best ( prong, snap, comb, barrette)? And what do you find holds them best, magical glue or sewing or what (some of my hot glue flower clips for Paisley have fallen off their clips)?

Mother's Day Week: Sisters in law

Not only have I been blessed with 4 great sisters (I left my 10 year old sister Claire out of my last post because I don't really consider her a woman yet, and thought it would be weird to wish her a happy Mother's Day.), but I've also been greatly blessed with many wonderful and beautiful sisters in law as well.

Kimberly,

Intelligent, athletic, thoughtful and kind. Makes an excellent pie. Really fun and easy to be around. A hard worker, like the rest of her family.

Stacey,

Sweet, gentle, and loving. A great example of spiritual strength and patient mothering.

Dusti,

Stylish and girly. Thoughtful. A great listener. The perfect hostess, she always has all the great finishing touches, great food, and the little extras that make every gathering special.

Andrea,

Always put together. Her children always look perfect. Talented with hair. Cute home. Organized and thoughtful and helpful. I think she does my dishes every time she comes over!

Jennifer,

So sweet and lovable. The kids gravitate to her. An avid reader. Always taking pictures of all the kids at our Sunday dinners.

Not the best picture, and Andrea and I are pregnant in it, but it's all the P* family sisters.

Michelle,

Talented masseuse and reiki master. Sensitive and loving. Appreciates nature and the magic of the universe.

Lauren, (picture stolen from her blog.)

So stylish. Her clothes, her home, fabulous! Preparing for a career in interior design. Sweet and soft spoken in person, and oulandishly funny in blogland. Not to mention, practically famous in the world of blogs and Twilight fans!

I can't express how lucky I am to have these women in my life. I feel I have connected with each of them in a unique way and they have all helped me since they have been in my life. I love you and couldn't be happier with the sisters that marriage has brought me. Thank you for being there for me always. I hope you each have an incredible Mother's Day and know that you are amazing women! My one complaint-it's hard on the self esteem being surrounded by these lovelies all the time, including my real sisters!
